Healing back pain with turmeric and bromelian

Last Friday I hurt my sciatic nerve by picking up Lilly   I was lying down in bed and reached over to the floor to lift her up. On Saturday, my lower back and right leg were in so much pain. I thought about taking some ibuprofen that was prescribed to me after my c-section, "but refused to take since I was nursing)... Anyways I read the whole page of scary side effects and decided no way! I remembered pineapple and turmeric are both Anti-inflammatorys so I hobbled over to the health food store and bought these turmeic and bromelain capsules (bromelain is a enzyme fron the stem of the pineapple plant). I started taking it with fresh pineapple and by Sunday I only had pain when I reached for something with my right hand. Today I'm 100 percent pain free. YEAH!

long sleeved peasant dress

Check out this  peasant dress tutorial by Prudent Baby. It was very easy to make even though I've only been sewing for six months
She's yelling "daddy daddy" in this picture, but he was still at work

Airplanes

Lilly is obsessed with airplanes, because we live so close to the airport. In fact airplane was her first word. So when I saw this Grovia cloth diaper, I just had to buy it for her. We just recently started cloth diapering. We're going to be saving about $1,200 from now until the time I'm guessing she'll be potty trained. If we started on cloth diapering at the time she was born we would have saved $3,000.

Making cinnamon raisin bread

Lilly and I love to make homemade bread.  This week I decided to make a bread that would be good for breakfast, and decided on cinnamon raisen bread.

1 package yeast
3 cups bread flour
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp butter
1 1/4 cups warm milk
2/3 cup raisins
I put it all in the bread machine then set it to manual
I like to bake it in the oven. Then its a traditional shaped loaf. I add the raisens at the beep beep beep point near the end of the second mixing. when the bread machine is done, take the dough out and turn it onto a floured countertop and knead it for one minute. If you have a 1 1/2 pound bread machine place dough in 9x5x3- inch loaf pan. If its a 1 pound bread machine place dough in   8.5x 4.5x2.5 -inch loaf pan. cover and let rise in warm place until doubled 30 to 45 minutes bake at 375 degrees for 30-45 minutes. I cover the loaf wth foil after its baked for about 20 minutes
