Apples and blackberries!

We recently had a wonderful Saturday afternoon picking apples and blackberries. I look forward to this every year! This year L was old enough to enjoy it too.

When we got home I made us all apple juice using the juicer. I LOVE our juicer it gives me instant energy in the morning when I make fruit and veggie juices
I also made 3 apple pies, applesause, and apple doughnuts. We  just ate the blackberries by itself and I also used it to flavor our water kefir (healthy soda)

Kale chips

This afternoon I made L kale chips.
I took a bunch of  organic kale and rinsed it. Then I tore it from the stems and put it on a baking sheet with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and cracked pepper.
I baked it at 350 degrees for 20 min
After it was baked I spinkled it with fresh parmesan. It did not have a pleasent smell, but it tasted amazing. It was hard to save some for Wee to have after she woke up from her nap.
She loved it!!!! she ate it so fast. I barely had time to put new batteries in the camera

Making cinnamon raisin bread

Lilly and I love to make homemade bread.  This week I decided to make a bread that would be good for breakfast, and decided on cinnamon raisen bread.

1 package yeast
3 cups bread flour
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp butter
1 1/4 cups warm milk
2/3 cup raisins
I put it all in the bread machine then set it to manual
I like to bake it in the oven. Then its a traditional shaped loaf. I add the raisens at the beep beep beep point near the end of the second mixing. when the bread machine is done, take the dough out and turn it onto a floured countertop and knead it for one minute. If you have a 1 1/2 pound bread machine place dough in 9x5x3- inch loaf pan. If its a 1 pound bread machine place dough in   8.5x 4.5x2.5 -inch loaf pan. cover and let rise in warm place until doubled 30 to 45 minutes bake at 375 degrees for 30-45 minutes. I cover the loaf wth foil after its baked for about 20 minutes
Lilly enjoying it for breakfast
