Making cinnamon raisin bread

Lilly and I love to make homemade bread.  This week I decided to make a bread that would be good for breakfast, and decided on cinnamon raisen bread.

1 package yeast
3 cups bread flour
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp butter
1 1/4 cups warm milk
2/3 cup raisins
I put it all in the bread machine then set it to manual
I like to bake it in the oven. Then its a traditional shaped loaf. I add the raisens at the beep beep beep point near the end of the second mixing. when the bread machine is done, take the dough out and turn it onto a floured countertop and knead it for one minute. If you have a 1 1/2 pound bread machine place dough in 9x5x3- inch loaf pan. If its a 1 pound bread machine place dough in   8.5x 4.5x2.5 -inch loaf pan. cover and let rise in warm place until doubled 30 to 45 minutes bake at 375 degrees for 30-45 minutes. I cover the loaf wth foil after its baked for about 20 minutes
Lilly enjoying it for breakfast

  1. I've always wanted to make my own bread... it just seems like a big endeavor with all the time spent waiting for dough to rise. I'm a big immediate results kinda person. Is it worth it?

  2. Totally worth it if you have a bread maker. You just put al the ingredients in and it does everything for you. The problem with my bread machine is, if I use a recipe that didnt come with the machine it turns out raw in the middle so I set the machine to manual and bake it in the oven. You save so much money. I made garlic french bread last night
